Delete your Hale account
Hale is a dating app on Google Play, published by Datant LLC (developer account “datantllc”). You can delete your Hale account and the data linked to it at any time, in the app or by email.
How to delete your account
Option 1 — in the app (fastest)
Delete from the Hale app
- Open Hale and sign in.
- Tap You at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm. You're signed out on every device and deletion starts right away.
Option 2 — without the app
Request deletion by email
- From the email address you use to sign in to Hale, write to [email protected] with the subject Delete my Hale account.
- We reply to confirm the request came from the account owner (we never ask for your password — Hale doesn't use one).
- We delete the account within 30 days and email you when it's done.
Suspended or banned accounts can also be deleted this way.
What gets deleted
- Account and profile: email address, name, date of birth, photos, bio, interests, preferences and preferred language.
- Personality data: quiz answers, your chat with Hale AI, trait scores and match explanations.
- Activity: likes, passes, matches, blocks and reports you made.
- Messages and translations: your conversations (for you and your matches) and any translations.
- Wallet: balance and history of top-ups, call minutes, conversation openers and translations. Unused credit is lost.
- Identity verification: your verification record and any selfie and ID images not already deleted.
- Settings: call settings, approximate location and push notification token.
Deletion starts as soon as you confirm in the app (or we confirm your email request) and is complete within 30 days, including backups.
What we keep, and for how long
- Safety evidence — up to 30 days: open safety cases and their evidence (flagged message excerpts, call frames or clips) and reports other members made about you are kept unlinked from your account so a violation can still be reviewed, then deleted when the 30-day retention ends.
- Open safety action — 180 days: if you delete your account while it's suspended, has strikes or is part of an open safety case, we keep one-way keyed hashes of its email address and (if recorded) ID document number for 180 days, so the restriction carries over if you sign up again.
- Bans — kept to prevent re-registration: if your account was banned, we keep a one-way keyed hash of its email address and, if recorded, its ID document number. The hashes can't be turned back into your address or number.
- Purchase records — as required by law: Google Play purchase and billing records are kept without your member ID only as long as tax and accounting law requires.
